A Sociologist, Dominique Astier started her career as professor of Law and Sociology at the l'Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Amiens France.
Then, she taught in Paris VII University alternating with consulting at several companies or organizations like SNCF, PSA, l'AFPA, l'ENSAIT, l'AGEFOS PME, Bull, EDF…
She created a Masters degree course in consulting "Theory and practice of participation in organizations" at the Paris VII Denis Diderot University.
Under the guidance of the "Regional Coordination Committee of Professional Training " (attached to the Prime Minister) and as a senior consultant, she supervised studies of regional policies in terms of equal access to training, of territorialization, and of local concerted actions.
She has also been nominated to and has served on the “Conseil National de l'Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche” for several years.
Thereafter, she established a management program for the entire management chain in CEA, which included strategic management seminars abroad.
Then, she run the Management Institute of CNRS and prepared future senior managers of research for European and international structures.
Presently, Dominique Astier is a consultant and Coach. She is recognized by high ranking managers for her expertise in the area of professional training in research: from the steering of complex research projects to strategic management, through pedagogical and training engineering and more recently to the prevention of psycho-social risks.
